The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Centre, the Maharashtra government and a private hospital in Mumbai on a writ petition, filed by a patient lying in bed for 36 years in a vegetative state, for mercy killing by stopping mashed food.
The petition was filed by Aruna Ramachandra Shanbaug through her friend Pinki Virani of Mumbai.
According to her, Aruna has been in a pathetic state in the hospital since November 1973. When she was working as staff nurse, she was assaulted and strangled by a sweeper with a dog chain to immobilise her. Her brain cells got damaged and since then she has been in a vegetative state. Her bones became brittle, wrists were twisted inwards, and fingers bent at the joints and fisted into the palms. Her teeth have decayed. Mashed food is being administered through the throat to keep her alive.
There is no possibility of any improvement in Aruna's condition, and her continued vegetative existence is a violation of her right to live in dignity, says the petition.

Dance of Democracy
The Central Government has set a bad example by withdrawing all the cases of agitators. I am not here to speak on Telangana, i need some more research to really understand the need for forming more states. Is it legally correct to withdraw all the cases? So if there is another agitation can someone take personal revenge and walk away freely?? I am tired of the dances of Democracy.. Many more agitations may follow for forming new states:

Indian student attacked in Australia again

In yet another attack on Indian students in Australia, a 23-year-old youth from the community was stabbed in the chest by unidentified assailants in Melbourne on Wednesday, police said.
The student, who was also a cabbie, was attacked and left to bleed on a Brunswick West street, police said.
The victim parked his taxi outside his girlfriend's home on Collier Crescent in the wee hours on Wednesday and rang her to bring his dinner outside when someone approached his vehicle, The Age reported.
His girlfriend heard the driver scream out over the phone as he was attacked, police officer Greg Johnson was quoted as saying by the paper.
The woman ran outside and found her boyfriend lying outside the car, bleeding with a single stab wound to the chest.
Police do not believe the attack was racially motivated or an attempted robbery as the man still had cash in his pocket and his mobile phone, the paper said.
Investigators are examining whether another car was involved.
The taxi has damage to the rear of the vehicle and bits of a broken front headlight were found near the scene.
"That is certainly one of the lines of inquiry we'll be looking along, that it could be a road rage incident," Johnson said.
Paramedics were called to the scene just before 2 am and took the man to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Intensive care paramedic Sean Lowell said they arrived within eight minutes to find the man on the ground next to his car.
"The man had been stabbed in the upper body and first aid was being applied by police officers," Lowell said adding "When we arrived police were helping stem the blood flow by applying pressure to his wound.
"Given the seriousness of his condition, it was important for him to get further treatment at hospital as soon as possible."
Police said officers were door-knocking the area and checking CCTV footage from inside the taxi.
Since June this year, over 30 Indian youths have been attacked in various cities of Australia.

Satyam employees fooled to work on fake projects
Satyam ex-chairman Ramalinga Raju's fraud game did not spare even its employees. While it inflated revenue through fake invoices, the company created teams to work on the fake projects. The employees working on these 'projects' were made to believe there were clients waiting for these products to be delivered.
According to the finds of the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), the employees were also regularly sent emails about the product and project progress as if they were all coming from the clients abroad. But the emails were fake and were used only to keep the employees engaged, reports DNA.
The fraudulent chairman along with the finance in-charges and the core team created at least seven projects, showing that clients were waiting for these products to be delivered. There was regular exchange of mails from the management to the employees to give an impression of the keen interest of management in execution of these projects.
The investigation also found the invoices do not match with the ledgers of banks with which Satyam had transacted in the U.S. "However, the ledgers maintained by Satyam were dishonestly and fraudulently forged pertaining to these seven customers to incorporate the collections pertaining to all the 63 invoices," the CBI said in its latest chargesheet.
What has caught the investigators by surprise is the way the emails to employees for monitoring the progress of the fake projects were generated. The CBI found that they were all generated from Hyderabad. "Detailed analysis of the emails revealed that the internet protocol addresses from which the emails were sent at the relevant time and date were all from within Hyderabad itself, which clearly shows that such emails have never emanated from these seven foreign customers. Further, it was also established that these emails were relayed by the Rediffmail server which has got a paid service facility called Domain Services, which facilitates its clients to create email IDs at their own domain names.
In this case, it was found that the payments for the said services were made through Bank of Baroda Visa credit card which belongs to D Venkatapathy Raju (one of the accused)," the chargesheet said. These email IDs were freely used by the core team working on fabricating the accounts to give sanctity to the fake projects. "For the purpose of executing the projects, which were never delivered to the customers, the accused have wasted thousands of man hours of the associates of Satyam there by incurring a wasteful expenditure to the tune of Rs65.88 crore towards the salaries of the associates and other overheads," the CBI said.

விஜய் படம் ரிலீசாகியிருந்த தியேட்டர்ல ஈயாடிச்சு. சரியான கலெக்ஷனே இல்லை. தியேட்டர் ஓனர் ஒரு ஐடியா பண்ணினார். எல்லாரும் ஃப்ரீயா உள்ளே வரலாம்னு சொல்லிட்டார். ஜனங்க முண்டியடிச்சுக்கிட்டு கும்பல் கும்பலா உள்ளே போனாங்க. அதுக்கப்புறம் கதவை மூடிட்டு, “இப்ப யாராவது வெளியே போகணும்னா இத்தனை ரூபாய் கொடுக்கணும்”னு டிக்கெட் கட்டணம் வசூல் பண்ண ஆரம்பிச்சாராம். பிளாக்ல எல்லாம் வித்துப் போயி, எக்கச்சக்க வசூலை அள்ளிக் குமிச்சிருச்சாம்.
தேனாண்டாள் பிலிம்ஸ் மாதிரி விளம்பரத்தில் பிரமாதப்படுத்தும் விநியோகஸ்தர்கள் கிடைத்தால் வேட்டைக்காரனை அவதார் ஓவர் டேக் செய்தாலும் ஆச்சரியமில்லை.

படத்தைப் பார்க்க விரும்பிய விஜய், தயாரிப்பாளர் பாலசுப்ரமணியத்திடம் பேசி ஒரு ஷோவுக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்யச் சொன்னாராம். ஆனால், சன் டிவியோ நாங்கள் யாருக்கும் இப்போதைக்கு ஷோ போடுவதாக இல்லை என்று கூறினார்களாம் பாலசுப்ரமணியத்திடம். இதை அப்படியே விஜய்யிடம் ஒப்பித்தார் அவர். வேறு வழியில்லாமல் எஸ்.ஏ. சந்திரசேகரே சன் நிர்வாகத்திடம் பேசினாராம். இல்லைங்க... ரிலீசுக்கு முன்னாடி படத்தைப் போடுற ஐடியா இல்லை. வேணும்னா 18ஆந் தேதிக்கு மேலே தனி ஷோ போடுறதா சொல்லுங்க என்று கறாராகச் சொல்லிட்டார்களாம்.
இந்த பிரச்சனைக்கு பேசாம காங்கிரஸுல சேர்ந்து கோஷ்டி பூசலை சமாளித்திருக்கலாம்.
தீபாவளி, பொங்கல் என ஏதாவது ஒரு விசேஷ நாளில் படத்தை வெளியிட ஆசைப்பட்டார் விஜய். ஆனால் எதிலும் இல்லாமல் டிசம்பர் 18ம் தேதி என அவர்களே நாள் குறித்துவிட்டார்கள். அதற்கடுத்த வாரம் ரிலீஸ் பண்ணியிருந்தால் கூட அது கிறிஸ்துமஸ் ஸ்பெஷலாகியிருக்கும். இதற்கும் காரணம் இல்லாமல் இல்ல. இப்ப மன்மோகன் சிங் ஓபாமாவை சந்தித்து பேசியிருக்கார். இந்தியாவின் ராணுவ உதவியை நாடியிருக்கிறார்.
பராக் ஒபாமா பின்லேடனைப் பிடிச்சே ஆகணும்னு தன் ராணுவத்தை முடுக்கி விட்டாரு. ஒசாமா பயந்து, எங்கே ஒளிஞ்சுக்கலாம்னு தன் உதவியாளர் கிட்டே ஆலோசனை கேட்டாரு. “வேட்டைக்காரன் ரிலீசாகப் போகுது. அந்தத் தியேட்டர்ல போய் ஒளிஞ்சுக்குங்க. ஒரு பய வரமாட்டான் அங்கே”ன்னாராம் உதவியாளர். ஒசாமா உடனே, “அடப்போய்யா! தப்பிக்கிறதுக்கு வழி கேட்டா, சாகுறதுக்கு வழி சொல்றியே!”ன்னு கடுப்பாயிட்டாராம்.
குருவி செத்துப் போச்சு; வில்லு ஒடைஞ்சு போச்சு. வேட்டைக்காரன் வந்து மட்டும் என்னத்த வெட்டி முறிக்கப் போறான்?

18ஆம் தேதி வேட்டைக்காரனை வெளியிட தீர்மானித்திருக்கிறார்கள். போட்டிக்கு அஜித், சூர்யா என்று யாருமில்லை. ரஜினி, கமல் படங்களுமில்லை. ஆனாலும் புளி கரைக்கிற மாதிரி ஒரு போட்டியாளர் இருக்கிறார். அது வேற யாரும் இல்ல டைட்டானிக் படத்தின் மூலம் கரன்ஸியையும், ஆஸ்கரையும் அள்ளியவர். அவரது பிரமாண்ட படைப்பு அவதார்.
ஏன் இந்த படம் வந்தா விஜய் படம் ஹிட்டாகாதா என்று கேட்கறீங்க நல்ல கேள்வி. அதற்கு முன் ஒரு சின்ன ஜோக்
நடிகர்களுக்கெல்லாம் ஒரு தேர்வு வெச்சாங்க. ‘உங்களோட ஹிட் படங்களைப் பற்றி ஒரு குறிப்பு வரைக’ என்பதுதான் கேள்வி. உடனே விஜய் எழுந்திருச்சு சொன்னாராம்... “இது அவுட் ஆஃப் சிலபஸ்!”
இன்னொரு தேர்வு. அதுல கொடுக்கப்பட்ட கேள்வி: ‘உங்களோட ஃப்ளாப் படங்களைப் பற்றி விவரித்து எழுதுக.’ விஜய் மட்டும் அடிஷனல் ஷீட்ஸ் வாங்கித் தள்ளிக்கிட்டே இருந்தாராம்.

Rajmohan!
It was indeed a great learning experience for me.. I learnt Investments and a lot of good work practices from Rajmohan. Dont know I will ever work with him again but I will always be in touch! A nice friend and a mentor! Thanks Raj for your guidance...!

Visited an ancient temple of Lord Siva
Koyambedu Sri Kurungaaleeswarar:
The main deity Sri Kurungaaleeswarar is also called as Sri Kusalavapureeswarar. It is said that Lava and Kusa, sons of Sri Rama stayed with Sage Valmiki in his Ashram along with their mother Sita Devi.
There are few other places too in and around Chennai like Thiruvaanmiyur and Siruvapuri, where Sage Valmiki had his Ashram when Lava and Kusa stayed with him.
The legend of this temple connects to Ramayana period, when Sita Devi was sent to forest by Sri Rama. Sita was under the care of Sage Sri Valmiki during that period and also gave birth to her 2 sons Lava and Kusa.
When Sri Rama sent the Aswamedha horse around the country, Lava and Kusa brought the horse to their custody. Without knowing that it was His sons who captured the horse, Sri Rama sent Lakshmana who fought a battle with them. As Lava and Kusa fought against their own uncle, they acquired a Dhosham called Gothra Dhosham. To be relieved of it, it is said that, they installed and worshipped Lord Shiva in this place.
The presiding deity Sri Kurungaaleeswarar is too small as it was installed by two small kids. This wonderful temple has stood strong across centuries and still has not lost its originality.
Directions:
On the way from Koyambedu bus terminus to the Koyambedu junction towards anna nagar take left after the HDFC bank, ATM before the marriage hall/ bus stop.
